Adventure Camp (August 2011)

Five days of camp culture, circus & survival skills & fun outdoor activites for social & emotional development

See Adventure Camp - Summer 2011 on Vimeo for a more detailed slideshow of this camp.

Designed to develop confidence in the outdoors, develop self -esteem and build positive relationships between 9-13 year olds, some of them in foster care.  This camp developed survival skills through bush craft workshops and resilience through challenging activities like surfing and horse-riding.  Living and working together in the beautiful Exmoor National Park for five days allowed the camp to focus on Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) and creating a big happy family.

“Cos we have to wash up and loads of stuff and you look back at your house what you don’t do, it is really interesting. Cos I don’t wash up for my house but I washed up here and it is really easy and I think I could do that at home. And my manners and all that I can give more manners to my mom and be polite.”
